Line Jee Hartmann Rasmussen, Ph.D.
Line is a Danish researcher, who earned her MSc in Molecular Biomedicine followed by her PhD in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2018. Line is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Moffitt-Caspi lab at Duke University.
Line is working with chronic inflammation, in particular a novel biomarker of chronic inflammation called suPAR (soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor), which is a marker of immune activity and inflammatory burden. The aim of Line’s research is to describe the underlying mechanisms of chronic inflammation and ways to detect increased inflammatory activity before development of disease. Here at Duke, Line aims to understand how genetic and environmental influences affect chronic inflammation and how this biomarker of chronic inflammation is related to biological aging.
